It’s not often you turn up to a wedding to find the bride’s mum blowing up a spacehopper, especially whilst looking exceedingly glam! It set the tone for a very relaxed and fun filled day at one of my favourite local venues, Wootton Park near Stratford upon Avon.
Rachel and Rob are a chilled out couple and chose a relaxed One Life ceremony outdoors on the island, surrounded by the lake and hundreds of teeny tiny froglets. We had to be very careful not to tread on them!
Rachel was a vision of vintage glamour in her fifties style dress and Rob looked very cool in his three piece suit with pocket watch. After the ceremony there was ice cream provided by Abigail’s Vintage Scoop and afternoon tea served in the barn which was beautifully styled with a rustic vintage theme.
The sun shone so the guests were able to take full advantage of the extensive grounds and range of garden games. The space hoppers proved popular with the children (as well as the bride!) and there was a spot of welly wanging too. In the evening Penny Lane Vintage brought their vintage caravan photo booth which was a big hit with the guests.
Rachel and Rob freely admit that they’re not the smoochy type, which wasn’t a problem as my way of working is to capture my couples interacting naturally. I wasn’t quite prepared for Rob’s ‘look at my bogey’ moment during their portraits, but it did make for a fabulous series of photos as I captured Rachel‘s reactions. Rachel tells me she has the bogey shot in pride of place in her living room :) You can see them below!
The day was rounded off with fantastic music provided by singer Andy Flynn and delicious pizza from Gourmet Alfresco.
It was a magical day and it was an absolute pleasure to be there to capture it for Rachel and Rob to remember forever. (Thank you so much for the very thoughtful owl themed pressies too!)
If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at Wootton Park, get in touch as I have very limited availability for 2017 and 2018 is filling up fast!
