Back in July I had a pretty epic weekend which saw me shooting weddings in North Yorkshire and North Wales in the same weekend. Both featured castles and both were rather special.
On the Saturday I went up to Yorkshire, where Laetitia and Kate were getting married at Hazlewood Castle. They chose to get ready together, which made a lovely informal start to the day, before gathering all their closest family and friends together before the ceremony for a glass or two of champagne.
The flowers were like nothing I’d ever seen before. Firenza Floral Design combined gorgeous cottage garden blooms with herbs and even blackberries. They looked amazing in Laetitia and Kate’s bouquets and decorating Hazlewood’s Great Hall. I also loved the lego people – all individually made by the couple – and home-made raspberry gin favours.
Laetitia and Kate went for cupcakes rather than a traditional wedding cake, and the sight of them feeding each other was a lot of fun, especially as Kate ended up with icing on her nose! I also admired Kate's practicality in having a dress with pockets :)
Laeti and Kate are such a lovely couple and it was a pleasure to capture the love and laughter (of which there was much!) for them to remember forever. I think it’s the only wedding I’ve been to where the couple has had a standing ovation after the marriage has been announced! I'll leave you with some highlights of their day. Part two of my weekend will be coming up early next week - be sure to check back as it's one you won't want to miss!
