Things have been rather quiet on the blog front here so far this year, but I've been very busy behind the scenes, shooting weddings, engagement and portrait shoots as well as designing albums, meeting clients and talking to couples at wedding fairs and venue open evenings.  It's about time I shared some of the loveliness I've already been fortunate enough to have photographed in 2014 so here to start us off is Jen & Chris' beautiful March wedding.

Jen & Chris chose Mythe Barn in Atherstone, Warwickshire as their venue.  I hadn't worked there before but I knew it was a lovely venue.  We met up a couple of weeks beforehand to go through all their final plans and to have a look around, as I do with all my couples prior to the big day.  It certainly didn't disappoint!    On the day it proved to be the perfect location, with the barn's fusion of rustic and modern design providing the perfect backdrop to their vintage theme.  The staff were very efficient but also relaxed and friendly which is the perfect combination!

Jen absolutely rocked her vintage style dress with pink and red petticoats and Vivienne Westwood shoes.  She even had matching flats which she wore for walking round during the couple portraits and in the evening.  There were so many wonderful handmade touches, such as the lovely bead, button and feather bouquets and buttonholes and Jen even made little replicas of their outfits to dress the hippos on top of the beautiful naked cake!
