Have I got a treat for you today!  Beccy and Tom got married last October at New Hall in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham.    I love anything a bit different and I knew Beccy and Tom’s wedding was going to be special.  However I was beyond excited when she told me she was planning to wear purple fairy wings!  She’d been having trouble finding exactly what she wanted to I pointed her in the direction of etsy where she found exactly what she wanted.  The bridesmaids also had miniature versions which made for 4 very excitable little girls and a lively ceremony with small fairies running around!  I have a great network of alternative wedding suppliers and love a shopping challenge so am always happy to help my brides source interesting items!

The theme, in Beccy's words, was Hallowe'en/Autumn/Harvest/pagan/purple/fairy and the rich colours worked so well with the beautiful Autumn light.  However, the day was ultimately about the people there and having fun.  Beccy's dad was a photographer who sadly passed away three years ago so her mum walked her down the aisle.  Her ring is made from her dad's ring so he would be there with her and she was very keen for the photos to be natural and capture everyone having fun, rather than posed, as this was the kind of photography her dad loved.    This was one of the reasons she chose me as her photographer – my passion is documentary wedding photography – capturing the day as it happens to tell the story, and noticing all the little moments throughout the day, leaving everyone to enjoy themselves.

Beccy had her dress and purple velvet jacket especially made in a Jane Austen style and her purple Irregular Choice shoes were another special touch.  Like me she’s purple mad!

They have two gorgeous young daughters and there were lots of kids at the wedding so they had children's stories for their readings.  They also had a kid's disco, which started immediately after the speeches so the dancing started right away and didn't stop until the end of the night.
