It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged – it’s one of those things which gets pushed to the bottom of the to do list once wedding season gets into full swing, but I’m determined to turn over a new leaf in 2017 as I have so many fabulous weddings to share!
I started my wedding year down in Hampshire last weekend and I’ll be posting some pictures from that very soon. In the meantime, I’ll kick off with one of my favourite weddings from last year.
Katie and James got married in May and the day started at Katie’s mum and dad’s house where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready. Katie’s Jenny Packham dress was exquisite and it suited her perfectly - such a gorgeous bride! A Routemaster bus took the bridesmaids to St Leonard’s Church in Beoley for the ceremony, while Katie travelled in a vintage Aston Martin. The journey along the country lanes after the ceremony was a treat for James as he used to work for Aston Martin and he loves the 1960s.
The reception was at Gorcott Hall which is a beautiful venue, tucked away off the A435 on the way to Redditch. It was perfect for their May wedding. The house has so much history, the converted barn is perfect for eating and dancing, and the gardens are amazing, especially in early summer. There’s also a lake where the bride and groom can have portraits taken. We wandered down there after dinner when the light was golden and the results were bloomin’ gorgeous!
Katie spent a lot of time styling the barn and it looked amazing! The day was rounded off with a brilliant disco provided by The Best Men. If you’re looking for DJs who will tailor the playlist to your requirements and guarantee no cheese, look them up!
Thank you so much to Katie and James for choosing me to capture their wedding – it was such a wonderful day. If you’d like me to capture your wedding at Gorcott Hall, please get in touch!
